TAXIS are readily available and cost approximately £4 to bring you from the Railway Station and about £20 from the AIRPORT .

Airport taxis and City taxis are different. Airport taxis are usually white and larger private cars which only operate outwards from the airport. Tipping is optional and is usually given if the taxi driver has been helpful. |

City taxis are Black Cabs and will pick up at the station, airport or in the street. Charges can vary slightly depending upon the number of passengers in the party and whether the taxi has been reserved or simply hailed in the street, but the journey defines the main charge. BUSES are frequent and reasonably priced. The fare is presently £1.30. Exact money is required as change is not given.

Service 100 is a Blue airport express bus which provides an alternative 10 minute interval means of travel between the Airport and the Waverley Bridge at the station on Princes Street. The price is presently £3.50 one way. The No. 35 regular bus service also runs into the City by a more circular route ending at the Ocean Terminal. This bus is useful if you have little luggage and know where you are going. The fair is £1.30.

Local buses from Elm Row, near the flat, are the Lothian Region Transport maroon buses. No.s 7, 14 and 49 will take you to the High Street, Old Town and South Side. No.s 10, 11, 16 and 25 travel along Princes Street, near the train station, to the West End and No. 22 which runs to the Ocean Terminal in one direction and along Princes Street to Murrayfield in the other. These buses stop nearby giving a frequent service for the 5 minute journey to the city centre.

TRAMS Trams do not yet run. It is not yet known when they will, or if they ever will, but they currently cause great difficulty for motorists and pedestrians.
Alternatively, use the open top buses for sightseeing.
